Why do we constantly create expectations for people we know can’t fulfill them? Do we simply love being disappointed?
We love rants, right?
For some reason I felt like ranting, so here I am.. writing a post about why I’m limiting my expectations for certain people in my life.
For the most part, majority of the people in my life barely let me down. Perhaps it’s because I’ve limited who I can trust?
I’ve also limited who I let in my “inner circle”. Not “inner circle” as in “clique” like something cool, but those who are apart of my personal life.
However, it’s a small portion that just can’t seem to live up to what I expect from them.
Maybe it’s my fault?
No one has to live up to my expectations, I’m no one super important and they can live their lives however they please.
I just hate being let down.
I don’t think you should give this false perspective of yourself then when someone really needs you to live up to it, you show your true colors.
Are we setting ourselves up for disappointment?
Or do these people play a part in it as well?
What do you think?
