Honestly, this quote just popped up in my head a few seconds ago.
But now that it’s here, I wonder why people choose when to be themselves.
Shouldn’t we be ourselves all the time?
Shouldn’t we be proud of who we are?
I’ve witnessed people changing their characteristics to adapt to whomever or whatever they’re around.
Most people call this a skill.
To me it’s tiring.
I much rather be myself all the time.
It’s probably much easier said than done, but I don’t think I can find a reason to support why I should change who I am to fit in.
There’s a difference between being professional (how you’d act in front of your boss) and being fun (how you act around your friends).
However, I believe there’s a true piece of who you are in both of those settings.
It’s when you change entirely to be someone you’re not that throws me off.
I used to do that when I was a teenager a few years ago.
Now, I could never.
And I wouldn’t want to.
