“The Struggle Is Real,”

I’d be lying if I say I don’t struggle.

It’s nothing to be embarrassed about. Life is not a walk in a park on a hot sunny day.

We will face lots of obstacles that may knock us down.

However, it’s how you get back up that will determine how strong you are.

Sometimes, I think about people who are rich.

Kylie Jenner, for example, posts nothing but stunning photos from her gorgeous multimillion dollar house on the beach.

Meanwhile, I have to start paying back my student loans soon.

Everyone’s life struggles are different but somehow I can’t help but to think how we, low class people, are faced with struggles EVERY DAY.

Like we can’t get away from them.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m a very positive person and my ability to motivate myself is top tier.

I just wish life was fair.

  1. Kylie Jenner is probably photo-shopped in those photos. Kylie Jenner probably has assistants an maids doing all of her hard work for her so that she has the perfect IG photos. Normal people, like us, live normal lives. Comparing ourselves to a superficial, perfectly-curated human will make us feel bad. If life was fair, we would all be Kylie Jenner. If life was fair, we would all have mansions and spend our days sipping pina coladas on the beach. This would lead to problems… society would cease to function if nobody was working or contributing any real value to society.

Anyone who appears to live a perfect life through a filtered lens is not living their true, authentic, real life. Comparison is really the thief of joy. It will leave you feeling unfulfilled and dissatisfied. Eliminate the comparison, and suddenly life becomes simpler. Like the saying goes, “ignorance is bliss.” The less we know, the better off we are. It’s natural to want to compare ourselves to everyone else to see how we fare; competition is ingrained in us. However, comparison is rigged and you will lose. Every. Single. Time.

    1. You’re completely right! This was so perfectly explained. I’m sure rich people have obstacles and problems as well that they don’t share to pretend that they’re perfect. Thank you for your comment!

      1. Social media is an illusion even though it seems so real. Tbh I had to forfeit an entire semester and school year because of depression. Much of it was triggered by social media. Now I stay away from it as much as I can. Sure, I’m missing out on what other people are doing but I’ve got my own goals and dreams that need my attention! 🙌

      2. I still get the desire to check FB to check up on people I no longer talk to but then I remember all of the reasons why I left FB in the first place. It’s enough to stay away from FB. I haven’t used FB since late 2017. I just know I will look ppl up and regret this very bad decision. It’s not worth it….😒

I’m glad that you were able to stay away from FB and that your life is better now without it! Comparison is the thief of joy 🥀
