Commuter’s Thoughts

It takes me about 45 minutes to an hour to get to work on A GOOD DAY. There’s been days where it took me longer to get home or to get to work.

I’m writing this post as I’m on my way to work. I’m also writing this to keep myself from being annoyed because it’s too early for that foolishness.

It’s crazy how far we have to travel just to make some type of money. I’m very grateful to have my job during this pandemic but this isn’t right.

Citizens and non citizens should have the opportunities to make a good amount of money so they can actually LIVE.

The money we make now usually goes to bills or essential items. We don’t really get to spoil ourselves or have the time to rest. We’re either in school full time or at work.

That was the story of my live before I graduated in May. I was a full time student while also being a full time worker. If I wasn’t at school, I was at work. I didn’t have days off.

I know some people may be thinking,

Well that’s your fault. No one told you to go to work and college.

You’re absolutely right. I wanted to go to college and work because I wanted a better life for my family and I. I also needed the money.

Majority of us aren’t born into wealth nor are we privileged, so we have to actually WORK for what we want.

What’s not my fault is that the opportunities and money available goes to those who are already privileged.

We need to change that.

Everyone, documented and undocumented, deserves a chance at a better life.

Just some thoughts from a commuter.

Have a great day everyone!
