“Just Keep Swimming”

I give myself a ‘pep talk’ all the time. It’s very important to uplift yourself in this hateful world full of disappointment and people who just look out for themselves. We’re human, we all go through rough patches in our lives and have no one to talk to about it because everyone is stuck in their own egos.

Personally, there were a lot of ‘what the f*cks’ in my life and I know there will be more because I’m young. A good pep talk to myself keeps me from going insane, honestly. Sometimes everything in life goes bad and it gets to the point where I feel like my brain is going to explode.

When life gets you down, do you wanna know what you’ve gotta do? Just keep swimming.

Literally, we have to keep swimming.

If we don’t, we’ll drown. If we drown, we’ll give into our sorrows and pain. We can’t let them win. When I give myself a pep talk, I always start with ‘I’m proud of you’. It might sound weird or crazy but sometimes you need to tell yourself that. It’s what we want to hear from the people we love, but sometimes they let us down, actually a lot of the times they do.

There’s someone who didn’t get the chance to wake up today, but we did. We were given another chance to make our lives better. Don’t feel incomplete or sad, you’re here for a reason. Things might not look good right now, but one day you’ll wake up the happiest you’ve ever been.

The support your looking for from others, you can give yourself. Yes, it hurts when you don’t have that support but the support from yourself is what you need the most. The right people will support you and it’ll be something greater than anything you’ve ever had. It will feel like you’re on top of the world.

SN: I started this blog because I love to write. Sometimes I can’t seem to find the right words to say but I can damn sure find the right words to write. When I write, It eases my mind. I’m the happiest person when I’m in the middle of writing a story, script or blog. I’ve always wanted to reach people through my work, which is one of the main reasons why I’m a Communications Major (Media Concentration) . I feel like I was blessed with this gift and I want to reach as many people as I can through my creations. My love for writing is one of the reasons I prefer to text than talk on the phone, which most people don’t understand.

Keep on swimming, guys. We’re on this earth for a reason, it’s up to us to find that reason. I think I found mine 🙂

Feel free to comment and let me know what you do to uplift yourself.
