Men vs Women: Compulsive Liars

If you had to choose between who lies more, would you say Men? Or Women? Everybody has lied about something in their life, whether it’s big or small. But, between the two genders, which lie more than the other? I asked a few of my friends and loved ones to answer the question and to provide a few reasons as to why they chose that specific gender. Here is goodtherapy.org’s definition of compulsive lying :

“Compulsive lying describes a condition in which a person tells falsehoods out of habit, sometimes for no reason at all.  It is also known as pathological lying, mythomania, and habitual lying.”

One of my friend’s believe women lie more than men. He chose women because he believe they are slyer than men and they have good memory when making up lies so they’re able to repeat the same lie over and over without missing any parts. I disagree with his statement but it’s his opinion so I respect it.

Another friend stated that men lie more than women and she connected it to how easy it is for a man to cheat on their spouses and lie about their whereabouts for YEARS . She went on to say that men are very persuasive and great actors which allows them to lie naturally about the smallest things without getting caught until a woman’s intuition steps in and saves the woman’s heart. ( Very dramatic, right? )

This next statement is very reasonable and I actually agree with it 100%.  A loved one stated, “I think it’s equal because people lie based on the conditions of their situation and their integrity. It has nothing to do with gender.” This was perfectly said.

A gender does not define how much of a liar a person is. There’s only two genders but there are billions of individuals who are aware of their actions and as a society we need to stop blaming personal actions on a group of people.
